Cross The Tracks

Deal out the cards, face down, in rows. A row of three, then a row of two, then a single card, then there's the glass, then deal them the same way on the other side (see super-handy diagram below)

Fill the glass with however much you want - minimum one ounce of hard stuff. Then the player starts turning the cards over, in order. If a card is not a face card, then you move on to the next one. If it's a face card, do the following:

King - Take three drinks of beer and put down three fresh cards on the ones you already turned over, then resume playing back at where the new cards put you.
Queen - Same as king, but two drinks of beer and two fresh cards.
Jack - Same as king, but one drink of beer and one fresh card.

When you reach the tracks (the glass in the middle) you drink whatever's in it, then refill it with however much you're willing to put back in (minimum one ounce). If any of those face cards drive you back across the tracks though, you drink what you put in, and then refill it. Plus, now you're behind it so you have to cross the tracks again to get to the other side, refilling it once you pass (putting the one ounce minimum in is a good idea if you've just been driven back across, obviously). The game continues until you reach the last card, you run out of cards in the deck, or you die.

For the truly devoted players, you can actually make aces count for four drinks and four cards. We played it this way for a little while, but just couldn't take the beating, so we made aces a non-face card with no penalty.

Make sense? Lemme know if you have questions. God knows I don't want anyone misinterpreting the rules and getting off easy...
